One of Holland's best loved swing and traditional piano players Harry Kanters leads this dynamic group playing in the style of the classic Nat King Cole trio. Harry has performed with many fine musicians in his career including Warren Vache,Tom Baker and Dan Barrett and possesses an exciting, energetic style drawing on many pianistic influences from Nat King cole, Oscar Peterson and Teddy Wilson.
The Harry Kanters Trio features Parisian bass player Sebastien Girardot who is building a solid reputation as one of the top european players in the new orleans and traditional jazz scene working among others with Lillian Boutte, Leroy Jones and Evan Christopher.
It also features the vocal and guitarist talents of Dave Blenkhorn who has become a sought after player in the traditional and gypsy jazz scene since his arrival in the UK in 2005. Prior to the UK he has played and recorded with some of Australia's best known jazz musicians James Morrison, Bob Barnard and Graeme Bell and performed at numerous European festivals with U.S players Evan Christopher, Dan Barrett and Duke Heitger.
Having performed together as part of the Australian Allstars at the Ascona festival these three musicians discovered they all shared a passion for the music of the Nat King Cole trio. Within the Allstars concerts they performed their trio numbers to enthusiastic audiences. An all singing trio, they perform some of the classic arrangements of the cole trio such as 'hit that jive jack' and 'the sunny side of the street' along with some of the spohisticated instrumental arrangements of classics such as 'Sweet Georgia Brown'. It's all about swinging and enjoying the music with these guys as they pay homage to the great pianist and singer Nat King Cole. |
